Brussels does not lack policy events. It has too many of them, most competing for the same distracted audience. The organisations that break through are not the ones with the biggest budget or the flashiest build, they are the ones who get the right forty people, rather than four hundred of the wrong ones, into the room.
That audience does not exist in the abstract. It exists as policy micro-communities, tightly defined groups of officials, advisors and experts who follow a narrow set of files closely, and who trust a narrow set of sources to tell them what is worth their attention. Design alone cannot reach them. What reaches them is being vouched for by something they already read.
That is the role a media partner plays, and why we don't try to play it ourselves. Bump designs the environments and experiences that make an idea memorable once someone is in the room. A trusted publication brings the credibility, the existing relationships and the editorial reach to make sure the right people show up, and hear about it afterwards. Neither is sufficient alone.
