How can we do the Brussels manifesto differently?
The run-up to the EU elections usually means lots and lots of manifestos in Brussels.
Everyone wants to share their vision for the next EU term — and they usually do so with lengthy and dense documents that culminate in some sort of request.
With this in mind, Bump and EUROPEN, the association representing Europe’s packaging industry, co-created something more to the point, people-centred and hopeful: Opportunity Europe.
The name was a nod to the crossroads at which Europe found itself, and the economic and sustainability-related opportunities that presented themselves if the right course of action was pursued.
The Packaging Industry Manifesto at the heart of the Opportunity Europe campaign had three straightforward asks:
