The story

Made in Europe Innovation: Decarbonising Mobility Today was a three-day exhibition in the European Parliament in Brussels, 2–4 June 2026. We built it with our media partner The Parliament, for Repsol and Horse Powertrain, and it was hosted by Raúl de la Hoz Quintano MEP.

At its centre stood a real next-generation hybrid powertrain engine — produced in a 100% European collaboration between Horse Powertrain in Valladolid and Repsol — designed to maximise efficiency and cut CO2 emissions using renewable fuels. Around it, a “drive impact” calculator let visitors estimate their own real-world CO2 savings, and an interactive myth-busting quiz tested what they thought they knew about renewable fuels and hybrid engines.

Short briefs through each day unpacked biofuels versus e-fuels, how renewable fuels are made, innovation in hybrid systems, technology neutrality, and what European engines and fuels mean for jobs and strategic autonomy. A fully booked opening ceremony, moderated by The Parliament, was followed by a cocktail reception and car exhibition across the square at the Bump Policy Experience Space.
